Marine Cert is proud to be both an Electrical Surveyor and an Electrical Design Approver.

Recognised and approved by Maritime New Zealand and the Australian Maritime Safety Authority AMSA

All Commercial Vessels are required to go into survey to ensure the crew and public safety.

Under MOSS, maritime operators can engage a surveyor directly. Your vessel survey is required to be completed by a recognised and approved Maritime New Zealand Surveyor to carry out commercial marine activates in New Zealand

An Electrical Survey is just one of the components required by Maritime NZ, with the complex and rapidly evolving nature of electrical systems and electronic technology, electrical surveys should be carried out by a qualified Marine Electrical Surveyor.

Marine Cert is proud to be both an Electrical Surveyor and an Electrical Design Approver, recognised and approved by Maritime New Zealand and the Australian Maritime Safety Authority AMSA.

A Recognised Design Approver (DAE) is a surveyor who is qualified to evaluate the design and proposed electrical systems of a ship and its equipment to establish whether it is fit for the purposes for which it is intended, and if its complies with relevant maritime and marine protection rules.

An Electrical Surveyor is approved to survey the ships electrical systems and electronic equipment to ensure that it meets the maritime rules and original design specifications from the DAE

After design approval, all vessels need a periodic survey to comply with the Maritime Operator Safety System standards, in addition to general survey reports.

To obtain a full comprehensive report, we work alongside other marine surveyors who cover different aspects of surveying to achieve the specific certification for each area on your vessel. A Marine Electrical Survey may also be required for some boats by marine insurance companies for obtaining insurance or at different stages throughout the insurance process.
